Neckermann and ITS launch early sales
Major German tour operators Neckermann Reisen and ITS have both launched winter 2010/11 winter sales much earlier than usual to take advantage of rising demand for dynamic package holidays.
Both tour operators are offering a selected number of hotels and destinations through their so-called ‘X products’, which refer to the codes for their dynamic packaging products in travel agent reservation systems.
Neckermann Reisen has opened bookings for a selected number of hotels for next winter one and a half months earlier than usual. Through its XNEC product, Neckermann is offering more than 140 hotels in major destinations in combination with flights at daily prices for packages up to the end of December 2010. Destinations include Majorca, the Canary Islands and long-haul destinations in the Caribbean, Brazil, Indian Ocean and Kenya. The XNEC offers will be continually expanded until the regular winter brochures are released in July.
Similarly, ITS will open sales for 100 top-selling hotels on March 1 for the forthcoming winter season. Last year such early offers did not go on sale until May 25. Destinations include Egypt, Tunisia, the Canary Islands, the Caribbean and the Maldives along with various city destinations and then some winter sport packages as of March 15. The offers can be booked either as traditional package holidays or as dynamic packages with variable flight combinations of carrier, departure times and prices.
